Vision

Plastics Packaging Research & Development Centre will be an internationally recognized organization to provide sustainability solution in the field of flexible packaging. It will liaison with packaging industry, reputed institutes, and research centres of its kind to develop biodegradable multilayer flexible pouches, those which are not collected from waste streams. Focus will also be to develop upcycling technology, to make circular economy a reality.

• Providing solution to produce industrial and home compostable films for multilayer pouches which can degrade within defined period, without adversely effecting environment.
• Addressing the issues of composability in marine littering and landfill dumping
• Active participation with agencies to develop standards for biodegradable plastics
• Developing technology to upcycle plastic wastes to produce near prime material
• Upgrading technology to recycle multilayer laminated pouches and to recover high quality materials for various value-added applications.
• To study the maximum level of recycled content in circular compounds for packaging segment
